Cloudflare has acquired Deno to integrate its 'celld' technology for self-hosting Workers, but there is a major catch. The Deno runtime itself will only receive one more year of support before Cloudflare ceases development entirely. This effectively leaves the future of the Node.js alternative up to the open-source community as it enters maintenance mode.
