Anthropic is letting METR researchers look under the hood with employee-level access

Anthropic has granted third-party safety researchers at METR full employee-level access to their internal systems to evaluate catastrophic risks. Crucially, METR has the autonomy to publish their findings publicly without Anthropic being able to veto or redact the reports. This sets a significant precedent for transparency in a sector usually shrouded by proprietary secrets and NDAs.
